Strawberry Apple Pie

 

3 ½ c thickly peeled granny smith apples

1 ¼ c sliced fresh strawberries

1 T lemon juice

½ c sugar

3-4 T flour

Pastry for double crust pie

½ t sugar

1/8 t ground cinnamon

Whipped topping

In bowl combine apples and strawberries, drizzle with lemon juice.  Combine sugar and flour, sprinkle over fruit and toss lightly.

Line 9 inch pie pan with pastry.  Add filling.  Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie.  Place over filling.  Trim. Flute edges.  Cut slits in top.  Combine sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle loosely over top.  Cover with foil

Bake at 450 for 10 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350 remove the foil and bake 35-40 minutes.  Garnish with whipped topping.  Makes about 6-8 servings
