Wood Floor Cleaner

For a basic cleaning solution, dilute half a cup of white vinegar with a gallon of warm water. To clean your wood floors, simply dip a sponge mop in the solution and squeeze it dry. Wipe it across your floors while rinsing the mop out frequently. Take a clean and dry cloth to wipe out any damp areas on the floor.Tea bags can also be used to both clean and polish wood floors, making them shine. Do not use the instant variety. Brewed tea is best and the stronger, the better. Use five to 20 tea bags and allow them to steep in two quarts of hot water.

You can experiment with the number of tea bags until you achieve your desired solution. Use a cloth or sponge mop to clean your wood floors. However, do not leave excess tea on the floor and be sure to wipe the floors dry. Tea effectively cleans the floor and brings out the natural grains of the wood, leaving a nice shine to it.

Laundry Soap

Recipe
1 quart Water (boiling)
2 cups Bar soap-fels naptha (grated)
2 cups Borax
2 cups Washing Soda

• Add finely grated bar soap to the boiling water and stir until soap is melted. You can keep on low heat until soap is melted.
• Pour the soap water into a large, clean pail and add the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir well until all is dissolved.
• Add 2 gallons of water, stir until well mixed.
• Cover pail and use 1/4 cup for each load of laundry. Stir the soap each time you use it (will gel).

Recipe
Hot water
1 cup Washing Soda
1/2 cup Borax
1 Soap bar-fels naptha

• Grate the bar soap and add to a large saucepan with hot water. Stir over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
• Fill a 10 gallon pail half full of hot water. Add the melted soap, Borax and Washing soda, stir well until all powder is dissolved. Top the pail up with more hot water.
• Use 1 cup per load, stirring soap before each use (will gel).

Powdered Laundry Detergent
2 cups Fels Naptha Soap
1 cup Washing Soda
1 cup Borax

• Mix well and store in an airtight plastic container.
• Use 2 tablespoons per full load.

Recipe
2 gallons Water (hot)
1 bar Soap-fels naptha (grated)
2 cups Baking soda (yes baking soda this time–not washing soda)

• Melt grated soap in a saucepan with enough hot water to cover. Cook on medium-low heat, stirring frequently until soap is melted.
• In a large pail, pour 2 gallons hot water. Add melted soap, stir well.
• Then add the baking soda, stir well again.
• Use 1/2 cup per full load, 1 cup per very soiled load.

Microwave Cleaner

Homemade Cleaner #1: Microwave Oven Scouring Cleaner

When dry food and sauce build up on the walls of a microwave oven, not only does it look unpleasant, it is also unsanitary. But, no matter how tough the job seems, getting your microwave oven clean is easier than you think, especially when you use this homemade cleaner.

In a bowl, combine four tablespoons of baking soda with one tablespoon of vinegar. Mix together until the baking soda and vinegar form a paste.

Before you apply the homemade cleaner, put a cup of water in a microwave-safe bowl or cup. Place it in the microwave oven and heat until the water bowls. Turn off the microwave, and let the water sit for one or two minutes. The steam from the water will help to loosen the dried, caked-on food.

After removing the water, use a moist sponge or cloth to spread the paste around the inside of your microwave oven. Scrub until all the food and debris has been loosened up, then use plain water to rinse off the paste.


Homemade Cleaner #2: Microwave Oven Deodorizer and Degreaser
This homemade cleaner will eliminate unpleasant odors, and help cut the grease that may have built up on the inside of your microwave oven. Do this at least once a week to keep your microwave oven clean and fresh-smelling.

Place half a cup of vinegar in a microwave-save bowl. Place in the microwave oven and heat until the vinegar starts to boil. As soon as it starts to boil, press stop. Let the vinegar sit in the microwave oven for five or ten minutes. Then, remove the bowl of vinegar, and wipe down the inside of the microwave oven with a wet sponge or cloth.

Oven Cleaner

--Gather baking soda, water and dish-washing soap. Use an old spray bottle and spritz the oven completely with water until all surfaces are coated. Sprinkle baking soda onto the wet surfaces and allow it to sit overnight. The next day, drizzle liquid dish-washing soap on a sponge that has been wrung out after soaked in hot water. Use this warm, wet sponge to clean away all oven grime.

--For the next recipe, gather ammonia, baking soda and water. Heat your oven to 200 degrees then turn it off. Fill a baking pan or oven-safe container with about 2 cups of ammonia and place it on the central rack of the oven. Fill a second, similar pan with 2 cups of boiling water and place it on a rack below the first container. Let them sit overnight. The next day, remove the pans and racks then use a warm, wet sponge covered in baking soda to wash down the oven.

--Gather salt, baking soda and water for this cleaner. Spritz the oven surfaces with water then sprinkle them with a mixture of the dry ingredients, using about 1 cup of baking soda and 1/3 cup of salt. Let the mixture sit on the oven surfaces overnight before wiping it off with a warm, wet sponge.

Remove oven racks and trays to scrub them separately. Use a wet, warm sponge to remove all grime from the racks and trays. Use the abrasive side of a household sponge for harder-to-clean areas

Window Cleaner

·  1 Combine 1 tbsp. of cornstarch with ¼ cup of white vinegar in a small mixing bowl. Add 1 quart of warm water and stir until the cornstarch dissolves.

·  2  Pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Shake the bottle before every use.

·  3  Spray the vinegar cleaning solution onto the window. Dry the window with crumpled newspaper to prevent streaks from forming.

·  4 Store the bottle in a dark location.

Homemade Soft Scrub Cleaner

1/2 cup baking soda
Enough liquid soap or detergent to make a frosting-like consistency
5 drops antibacterial essential oil

Pour the baking soda in a bowl; slowly pour in the liquid soap or detergent, stirring all the while, until the consistency reaches that of frosting. Scoop the creamy mixture onto a sponge, wash the surface, and rinse.
